Charlotte Link has written a brisk tale that is engaging from the beginning. It has list of suspects lovers of Yorkshire crimes love to read about:Victims of tself absorbed parents, women ” unable to give warmth, love or affection”, men full of ” fears, shyness and self doubt, husbands who lack the confidence to express themselves or make connections with others, and characters who store hatred and poison and a dersire for revenge for a lifetime of unmet needs; I.e. The usual cast of dysfunctional characters who malfunction in a spectacularly bad way.An interesting subject for thought is that the one person in the book who has a caring person in their life….someone who has the rare capability to love another and selfishly give support to the object of their devotion, is rejected. It is not enough. Yet it is the lack of this agape that damaged every person in the story.
(Charlotte, NC) Filmmaker John Schwert, who drew attention with his acclaimed first feature Among Brothers, secured a worldwide release with his second feature film In/Significant Others set for re-release in 2024.
In/Significant Others premiered at the Boston Film Festival, where it won the top festival honors, and went on to screen at an additional 15 film festivals, winning the top awards at the Charlotte and Mammoth Film Festivals, as well as the Houston Worldfest.
