In June 2022, one of Amouranth’s fans from Estonia was so enamoured with her that he travelled all the way to her residence in Houston, Texas and camped outside of her house. The stalker streamed himself on Twitch the entire time, for over 44 days and 33 minutes, making new accounts when his old ones were taken down. The fan would also go as far as to try to break in to her house, and the cops didn’t show up for 30 minutes, despite her begging them to come sooner. The stalker also sent her disturbing messages and pictures of himself, some of which featured his genitalia.
All of this sounds nice, but without knowing exactly what kind of safeguards Forever Companion AI purports to have built into its AI chatbots, it’s hard to discern just how AI Amouranth will interact with the real Amouranth’s fanbase. Parasocial relationships are hard to manage since they’re, more often than not, one-sided.
