In Riverdale, Cheryl Blossom is the child of Penelope and Clifford Blossom. Following her twin brother Jason’s tragic death, Cheryl’s relationship with her parents became tense. Penelope, her mother, held Cheryl responsible for Jason’s attempt to flee Riverdale, which resulted in his death. Clifford, her father, saw Cheryl as a failure in comparison to Jason.

However, the truth surfaced that he was shot a week later, around July 11th, by an unidentified attacker. The shooter was later identified as their father, Clifford Blossom. Before his death, Jason intended to flee Riverdale, a plan that Cheryl was blamed for aiding by their mother, Penelope Blossom.
Penelope Blossom blames her daughter Cheryl for Jason’s demise as Cheryl took him to Sweetwater River on the fatal morning. Furthermore, Cheryl’s assistance in Jason’s attempt to escape Riverdale is perceived by Penelope as a direct cause of his death, leading to a tense mother-daughter relationship.
