Composer, visual artist, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with a penchant for 80’s sounds and words, Charlotte Simon is co-founder of the electronic experimental music label MMODEMM and for years has improved the lives of Frankfurt’s feelers by bringing brilliant lusty musicians (and tapes and vinyl) to the city of clerks and sharks. Simon collaborates with co-conspirator Toben Piel, aka FM Aether, on the band Les Trucs started in 2009 and internationally known for its infinite electronic wiring and outlandish choreography.
Charlotte Simon uses a variety of media, including painting, drawing, and performance, and has an extensive background in art and acting. In her large-scale works, she combines different materials such as watercolor, acrylic, ink, oil, and even coffee to stage floating, translucent figures and hybrids in mysterious, timeless spaces. Her works reflect the intimate interconnectedness of all life and its constant transformation, inviting empathy, compassion, and the abundance of possibilities.
