The majority of people go on with their lives in both places and don’t spend too much time thinking about it; but America is pretty much always on the TV as entertainment in Europe — and the way it is presented is often , frankly, skewed. It is not uncommon to take American news sources(which are already biased and untrustworthy as it is), translate them into the local tongue, but leave out important bits of information that leave the viewer shaking their head in wonder at “those crazy Americans.” I’ve seen this more than once. But to be fair, I’m sure if you observe internet behaviour on international forums (and Quora is one of them) you will find that there are many Americans who have extremely warped and distorted visions of Europe
